A wild bear took up residence in a Ventura County town this week — captivating neighbors who tracked the beast through backyards and immortalized their new mascot beast in hilarious online tributes

The wayward bruin wandered into Fillmore and was spotted plopping down in driveways, under a trampolines and even slipping into a jacuzzi, KTLA reported.

Neighbors had a front-row seat to the ferocious animal‘s movements, with one even offering the bear a fish to chow down on.

This is not the first bear seen in the neighborhood, another was reported by residents three weeks ago. YouTube

As interest in their furry new friend grew, locals took to a community Facebook group to share doctored photos of the bear cruising in a car and eating at a neighborhood taco truck.

“Can bearly finish one,” one commenter joked.

The new guest’s residency came to abrupt end on Wednesday, when wildlife authorities arrived to tranquilize the bear and haul back into the wild.

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife assessed the animal a possible minor injury near its nose.

Authorities reminded residents to secure trash, keep pets indoors or on a leash, make noise when outside and give the bear plenty of space.

People are advised not to approach, feed, follow or scare the bear and to stay calm and back away slowly if encountered.

This is not the first bear seen in the neighborhood, another was reported by residents three weeks ago.

Officials have not confirmed whether it was the same animal.
