It’s already gearing up to be a cruel summer.
Anyone can be forgiven for not paying full attention to Bravo’s “Summer House” ten seasons in.
However, this week the show — charting the love lives and party antics of a glamorous group of young and upwardly mobile people living in a shared house — suddenly rocketed back into the public eye after a shocking love triangle was revealed.
Cast regular Ciara Miller, 30, was left slumped in devastation against the Hermes store on Madison Avenue on Tuesday with a stranger consoling her.
She had just learned her on-off ex-boyfriend, West Wilson, 31, is now dating her one-time best friend, Amanda Batula, 34, behind her back.
Making it even more awkward, at least for the producers, none of this happened on the show. As it’s filmed a summer behind, 2025’s antics are still unfolding on-screen.
It’s shaping up to be the biggest reality TV twist since 2022’s Scandoval.
But if you don’t know who any of the aforementioned people are, or you’re thinking “what’s a Scandoval” — don’t worry, we can explain everything.
What is ‘Summer House’ anyway?
It’s a Bravo’s reality series which started airing its 10th season in February. The show is filmed in New York state’s poshest party region, The Hamptons. It usually covers the cast members from Memorial Day through Labor Day as they live, gossip and generally create and navigate drama in a house together. It has been likened to an East Coast version of “Vanderpump Rules.”
The show started in 2017 and has featured over 40 housemates, with some of the most notable to emerge being Paige DeSorbo, Lindsay Hubbard and those now part of this awkwardly intertwined romance.
Who’s in the love triangle?
Ciara Miller: A 30-year-old model who also worked as an ICU nurse, who joined the “Summer House” cast in 2021. She brings a down-to-earth, yet somehow confrontational energy into the mix.
She, Batula and DeSorbo were nicknamed the three “Bed Bugs,” on the show, as they’d party all day then go to bed early to unpack gossip together and scroll social media.
West Wilson: A 31-year-old sports journalist and former Montana State football player who once wrote for Bleacher Report. He joined the “Summer House” cast in 2023 for Season 8.
Known for his charming persona, West immediately hit it off with Miller and they embarked on a make-out filled, summer fling all though his first season before calling it quits in Dec. 2023.
During an emotional reunion show the next year, the exes admitted to still having feelings for each other.
Amanda Batula: The “girl next door” was working as a graphic designer for a cosmetics company and dating pro DJ and content creator Kyle Cooke, 43 — one of the original cast members — in 2015, before the show ever filmed.
The first “Summer House” season saw Cooke spent the summer hooking up with other girls until the finale, when he and Batula went official during the final episode.
Batula, 34, joined the main cast from season two and their fates have been intertwined since, with all the drama you’d expect of two reality TV stars — cheating, drama, fights — along the way. The couple finally married in 2021, by which time they were essentially the marquee stars of the show.
However, also very in keeping for two reality TV stars, there was trouble in paradise and by Nov. 2025 sources were telling Page Six the Bravolebrities could soon be heading for divorce.
Then, this January, they called it quits after four years of marriage, issuing a joint statement saying: “After much reflection, we have mutually and amicably decided to part ways as a couple.”
How did all this happen?
Miller and Wilson reportedly had “hooked up” just a few weeks before the secret romance between Wilson and Batula was shockingly revealed, an insider alleged to Us Weekly on Friday. That source insisted Miller had no idea about it, adding “No one did.”
However, for weeks, fans have been spotting signs of romance between Wilson and Batula, who first met while filming in 2023.
In early March, they were seen being “openly flirty, allegedly even holding hands under the table,” at an event in New York, according to celebrity gossip site Deuxmoi.

The same month signs of Batula and Miller’s friendship fracturing started to appear. They were scheduled to film a joint Amazon Live presentation for Olly vitamins and supplements, but ended up doing it separately.
They also stopped liking each other’s Instagram posts around the time and seemingly unliked many of their interactions from the past.
Wilson also kinda let the cat out of the bag during a March 24 appearance on “Watch What Happens Live,” saying of Batula: “She’s single now … We’re just hanging out in New York. I gotta show her the streets, you know?
“If it’s not clear, that’s a very important person to me, and I, like, care about her a lot,” he added, although he only called Batula “a friend” when host Andy Cohen pressed him.

Then, on Tuesday, Batula and Wilson dropped the bombshell that tipped Miller over the edge, going Instagram official with a very carefully worded — but no less devastating — message.
“While this is still very new … It was never our intention to purposely hide anything. Given the complicated relationship dynamics involved … we needed a little space to process things privately before speaking on it,” they wrote.
“What’s developed recently was the last thing either of us expected. Our connection grew out of a genuine, longstanding friendship, which made it especially important for us to approach this with care.”
What’s been the fallout?
News of the betrayal, and love triangle, sounded alarms all over social media and sent fans and celebrities picking sides.
DeSorbo, on the show from Seasons 3 through 9, applauded the post: “Ur perfect.”
Alana Haim entered the chat when she appeared on “WWHL” Wednesday wearing a T-shirt bedazzled with the words “Team Ciara!”
Barstool Sports creator Dave Portnoy seemingly took the opportunity to flex, claiming on X he’s known about Batula and Wilson’s romance since February’s Super Bowl — an occasion which Wilson attended with Miller, at the time sparking speculation they would rekindle their relationship.
Portnoy later labeled Batula “a villain, a liar and a treacherous snake” in a scathing online rant.
Cooke — still fresh from his split from Batula — said he was blindsided, and questioned how the reality show will go on amid the tension. Especially as a reunion show is planned to be filmed this month.
“It’s just a lot to take in,” Kyle said in an interview with Adam Glyn while walking his dogs. “It’s not just me, Amanda, West, Ciara. It’s, like, our whole friend group.
“It really does put into jeopardy what the show’s about, because you can’t shoot ‘Summer House’ if the vibes are off. We’re not actors.”
Miller has yet to put out a statement, though she seemingly took a dig on Instagram.
“If you can’t trust your Friends & Neighbors, who can you trust?” she captioned a photo of herself, although she was working the red carpet for Hulu’s “Your Friends and Neighbors” premiere at the time.
What about Scandoval?
A very similar reality-TV-double-crossing-love-triangle emerged among the cast of “Vanderpump Rules”, another Bravo show, in Mar. 2023. It involving Tom Sandoval cheating on his long-term girlfriend, Ariana Madix, with their close pal and co-star Raquel Leviss.
As painful as that may have been, when aired, it got huge rating and single-handedly revitalized interest in the until-then fading reality series. However, it remains to be seen how the current situation will impact “Summer House” ratings as well as its cast.
