The Giants need to make a splash in the draft. Of course, the other 31 teams in the league are thinking the same way — but none of those franchises hired a future Hall of Fame head coach to get things in order. John Harbaugh expects to win right away with the Giants, and augmenting the roster with smart and strategic selections in this draft will help him achieve that goal.

With the No. 5 overall pick, the Giants need to hit a home run and bring in a player capable of making an impact as a rookie. Then Harbaugh and general manager Joe Schoen must connect with singles and doubles to strengthen the depth chart.

We used the ESPN draft simulator tool for this seven-rounder. This model uses expert mock drafts, grades from Scouts Inc. and team needs to estimate the chances every prospect is taken at each pick.

The Giants have seven picks — none in the third round and three in the sixth round. Here is Mock Draft 3.0:
