A new Scheffler has entered the Par 3 Contest on the eve of the 90th Masters Tournament on Wednesday.
Scottie Scheffler, the World’s top-ranked male golfer, and his wife Meredith brought their newborn son Remy, born on March 27, to Augusta National Golf Club — where his brother, Bennett, turning 2 next month, participated in the family event.
Meredith held Remy in a carrier as the family took the course in their matching caddie jumpsuits, debuting as a foursome for the first time publicly.
The Par 3 Contest is a lighthearted competition in which participants in the Masters and non-competing past champions are invited to play on a shortened nine-hole course.
It is common for golfers to invite their families, spouses and/or children to participate as their caddies in the friendly competition.
Bennett hit the ball with his toy blue club while Scheffler was teeing up his shot.
There were questions surrounding Scheffler’s playing status at the Masters this week after Meredith gave birth to their second son just 10 days prior.
Scheffler withdrew from the Houston Open last month for the birth. He was replaced in the field by Matt Kuchar.
“We had another boy a couple of weeks ago, and, yeah, it’s been really nice and fun,” Scheffler told Golf Channel’s Cara Banks on Monday.
“I’m really glad they were able to travel with me this week and you know, my wife is a trooper and brought the boys this week and, yeah it’s been fun.”
Remy was in a stroller with Scheffler’s parents, Scott and Diane, while Meredith and Bennett watched the two-time Masters champ warm up during a practice round Sunday, according to PGATour.com.
“My wife’s a trooper,” Scheffler said. “Yeah, having a newborn is always an interesting thing, but Remy is so young right now, they sleep a lot of the day. I think he’s used to being in the womb at this point. Yeah, I’ve been able to get a decent amount of sleep.”
Scheffler — who won his first green jacket in 2022 and his second in 2024 — Meredith and Bennett participated in the Par 3 Contest last year ahead of the 2025 Masters.
