Rue getting ruthless?
The dynamic between Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney was apparently far from euphoric at the “Euphoria” Season 3 premiere in Los Angeles Tuesday night.
The co-stars avoided each other at the star-studded event — which allegedly came as no surprise to some of their colleagues.
“‘Euphoria’ bosses are all too aware the pair do not get on. There were tensions way back … their paths barely crossed during the making of Season 3,” an insider alleged to The Sun, claiming Sweeney allegedly tried to flirt with Zendaya’s partner, Tom Holland, when he came to visit on set.
“During the press tour, any interactions between the pair are being kept to a minimum to avoid any awkward encounters on camera. There is a complete ban on journalists asking about tensions between Zendaya and Sydney.”
Sweeney, who portrays Cassie Howard on the hit HBO series, was all smiles while hitting the red carpet at the TCL Chinese Theatre in a white cape dress, an archival Pierre Cardin from 2007.
She snapped pics with fellow cast members like Maude Apatow, Alexa Demie and Hunter Schafer — who play Lexi Howard, Maddy Perez and Jules Vaughn, respectively — as they made their way down the interview line.
Meanwhile, Zendaya — chic in a brown Ashi Studio SS26 Couture ensemble — arrived fashionably late, narrowly avoiding a run-in with Sweeney. Jacob Elordi was also late to the carpet, skipping interviews and only posing for photos. The real-life exes star as Rue Bennett and Nate Jacobs, respectively.
Further fueling the feud speculation, Zendaya skipped the cast’s official afterparty at Chateau Marmont later in the night.
Sweeney, meanwhile, stepped out with boyfriend Scooter Braun, with the two holding hands and packing on subtle PDA in front of photographers.
Despite Sweeney and Zendaya keeping their distance from each other, an insider close to the situation shut down the report, telling us any rumors of a feud are not accurate.
“They’re both in high demand and working continuously,” the source told Page Six.
Another insider told us that, like Elordi, Zendaya actually missed run-ins with the cast due to her aforementioned late arrival. She arrived much later than Sweeney, Demie, Apatow and Schafer.
Reps for Sweeney and Zendaya did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
Zendaya’s brief drop by came on the heels of promoting her A24 film “The Drama” alongside Robert Pattinson.
She’s also preparing for the releases of Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey,” “Dune: Part Three,” and “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” later this year.
Sweeney and Elordi have been equally booked and busy, coming off of their respective projects, “The Housemaid” and “Wuthering Heights.”
