Craig Melvin accidentally reveals Jenna Bush Hager’s career pivot during live ‘Today’ show: ‘You cannot tell Craig anything!’

Craig Melvin accidentally revealed that Jenna Bush Hager will make a cameo in “The Devil Wears Prada 2” during a live segment on the “Today” show this week.

The NBC co-host let Bush Hager’s surprising career pivot slip during Wednesday’s episode of the hit morning news and talk show, per People.

“By the way, you know how that movie’s going to be good?” Melvin, 46, asked his co-hosts while discussing the upcoming “Devil Wears Prada” sequel. “You know how I can tell? JBH is in it!”

But Bush Hager, 44, didn’t seem ready to share her exciting cameo news.

“I don’t know that you were supposed to drop that bomb, but if you’re…” she responded to Melvin, before trailing off speechless off-screen.

Savannah Guthrie, who just returned to the “Today” show on Monday after an extended absence amid her mom’s disappearance, also chimed in to joke about the cameo incident.

“This is live,” she reminded her co-host. “You cannot tell Craig anything!”

Melvin went on to explain that he thought Bush Hager’s cameo in “The Devil Wears Prada 2” was “common knowledge,” which led Al Roker to respond, “It is now!”

“Cut it out for the other feeds!” Melvin suggested. “Sorry about that, JBH.”

The back-and-forth didn’t end there, however, because Guthrie joked that Melvin should “read [his] journal” for the audience since he was already sharing Bush Hager’s secrets.

“My bad!” Melvin replied when asked if there were any other surprises he wanted to reveal.

Reps for Melvin and Bush Hager did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.

“The Devil Wears Prada 2” hits theaters on May 1, nearly 20 years after the original was released in June 2006.

Meryl Streep (Miranda Priestly), Anne Hathaway (Andy Sachs), Emily Blunt (Emily Charlton) and Stanley Tucci (Nigel Kipling) are all set to reprise their roles.

“When I heard rumors that this new film might be happening, I called Meryl to ask if it was true. I knew she would tell me if it was going to be all right,” Anna Wintour, whom Streep’s Miranda Priestly was rumored to be based on, told Vogue in a recent interview.

“She hadn’t yet read the script, so she said she’d call me back. And that’s what she did. She read the script,” Wintour, 76, continued. “She called me back and said, ‘Anna, I think it’s going to be all right.’ She told me very little about what happens in the film, but I trusted her implicitly.”

As for Bush Hager, she dressed as Wintour while Guthrie dressed as Miranda Priestly for the “Today” show’s annual Halloween episode this past October.
