An Arizona son with a history of mental health issues allegedly bludgeoned his parents to death before he confessed to the murders in a 911 call, according to court documents.
Jonathan Turk, 29, told emergency dispatchers that he “murdered his parents with a hammer and knife because he got mad at them for putting him on medication” on Tuesday night, according to KTVK.
He allegedly stabbed Fraser “Scott” Turk, 63, with a knife before he brutally beat Tina Turk, 56, with a hammer in their Peoria, Ariz. home, described by one official as “extremely violent and brutal homicides.”
“We are concerned that if he is released he would be a significant danger to the community,” the official said during a hearing.
The alleged killer told dispatchers the bodies of his parents were upstairs, the murder weapons were in his room, and he would be “stepping outside with a water bottle in his hand and would wait for officers.”
Turk, who could face the death penalty after being charged with first-degree murder, was arrested and cops searched the couple’s home.
Fraser was found at the top of the stairs, while Tina’s body was discovered in the master bedroom.
Blood spatters were discovered on the floor and stairs, and the weapons were stashed in a trash can.
Turk’s parents, described as a model couple by pals, filed three mental health petitions against their son in 2026, according to the outlet.
He allegedly murdered them less than three years after being reported missing.
In May 2023, Peoria cops revealed that Turk was reliant on “several daily medications due to medical conditions.”
Turk did not take the medication with him at the time of his disappearance, before being found uninjured.
Neighbors have also spoken about how Turk’s presence left them feeling uncomfortable.
“I just always tried to walk on the other side of the street when I saw him out,” one told Fox10. “I just felt really uncomfortable because I have kids.”
Tributes have been paid to Fraser and Tina, who were married for 30 years.
“Tonight, the world lost two beautiful souls. Scott and Tina Turk were the definition of a model couple—married for 30 years and radiating a kind of love that we all hope to find in a partnership,” Rob Cagnetta wrote on Facebook.
“I am struggling to understand such a senseless killing, so I am choosing to share these photos to honor the beautiful life they built together.
“They were more than just a gorgeous, happy couple; they were an anchor of kindness and devotion. This is how they should be remembered: happy, together, and deeply loved. My heart is absolutely broken, and I will miss them beyond measure.”
Turk is set to appear in court next on April 7 and is being held on a $2 million cash-only bond.
