Hochul office’s cringey pothole post has New Yorkers blushing over raunchy double meaning

There’s a “hole” lotta innuendo here.

A cringy post about potholes by Gov. Kathy Hochul’s office has such a dirty double meaning it would make a porn star blush.

“it’s hole filling season,” the State of New York cluelessly posted on X Wednesday with zero context — sparking a wave of wisecracks from critics.

“That’s what she said,” one quipped.

“Taken from Hochul’s Tinder page,” another teased.

The raunchy-sounding post appeared to reference a street improvement project — but that didn’t stop quick-witted X users from tearing the state a new one.

“Man I wish I was from NY so all my holes [could] be filled,” one fired off — as others posted memes of cartoon characters’ butts.

It’s not the first time New York has gotten drilled by the state government, so to speak, others said.

“NY Government has been filling its citizens holes for decades,” an X user cracked.

The state’s post was a nod to recent effort to repair roads after this winter’s freeze-thaw cycle left streets more pockmarked than normal.

Hochul held a pothole-filling event in Albany Monday to kickoff the project, saying crews were expected to fill an estimated 175,000 of the street scourges this month.

“We are stepping up with an unprecedented state effort to repave hundreds of miles of roadway and fill hundreds of thousands of potholes in the next few weeks alone,” Hochul said.

Hochul’s staffers have posted bizarre and awkward social media posts in recent months — including when they dredged up an embarrassing cheating scandal involving Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy in March.

“WE GOTTA RESPECT MOTHER NATURE’S THING,” the state’s Instagram account wrote in another odd post, featuring a digitally edited image of a Furby with bunny ears in a snowstorm in January.

“Has NY state’s official Instagram account lost its mind?” Gothamist asked last month, adding it has “increasingly become a destination for nonsensical memes.”

“I noticed that the weirder the posts, the better it would perform, and therefore the more people would see really important government information,” said Milly Czerwinski, the 27-year-old who has run @NYGov for less than a year, told the outlet.
